Where Are You Going?
Health is a journey. We have a starting point and an end point, and lots of experiences along the way.
If we were to actually plan an extended trip or vacation, we’d need to consider many factors:
· What is the destination?
· How will I get there?
· How long will it take? Will there be stops along the way?
· What method of transportation is preferred?
· What will I need to do BEFORE I leave?
· What will I need along the way to make it safe and comfortable?
· How much money will it cost?
These are just a few of the many questions to consider which will impact both the journey and our ability to get where we intend to go! Just like on any trip, we are likely to find roadblocks, delays, and may get sidelined with needed repairs. Having a detailed plan helps keep us on course!
Now apply this strategy to planning the journey of life from a health and wellness perspective. Similarly, there are many questions to consider:
· Where are you at currently on your health & wellness journey?
· Where exactly do YOU want to go?
· How far off course are you from your ultimate destination?
· Are you in the driver’s seat? Or are you just a passenger going wherever the vehicle take you?
· Is what you are doing today going to get you there?
· How’s your “vehicle” holding up? Will it make it through the long haul?
Your body is THE vehicle transporting you through life’s journey. As you make this journey, consider this additional question: “Are we making mortality a medical experience?” ~Lifespan, Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To, by David A. Sinclair, PhD. We are living longer, but we don’t want to forfeit quality for quantity. Simply increasing our lifespan without simultaneously extending our health-span is foolhardy.

Your MAP – Metabolic Action Plan
Quick reminder: Metabolic health is much bigger than simply how much you weigh.
